This week in science with Mrs.M, we started a new unit on Earth's structure. In the beginning, we were listing all the things we thought had to do with Earth's structure. Here are a few of the things we listed;
- Water;
- Rivers
- Lakes
- Oceans
- Aquifers
- Streams
- Deltas
- Gulfs
- Beaches
- Seas
- Land;
- Valleys
- Mountains
- Hills
- Rainforest's
- Urban jungle
- Jungle
- Caves
We watched the an informational movie about caves, volcanoes & also one about the Earths different layers. We learned many things including these;
- The Earth has four layers;
- The crust
- The thin layer on the outer Earth that we walk on
- The mantel
- Gooey thick magma that is 1,200 °C
- Outer core
- The thick layer around the ....
- Core
- The solid steaming iron ball in the middle of Earth that is 1,500 °C
- The magma from inside the Earth comes out through volcanoes
- Caves have stalactites-from top of cave- and stalagmites-from bottom of cave
There are ice caves, hot molten caves and water caves
I want to learn about the different types of rocks and how they are formed.
I want to learn the different theories of how the universe and/or the Earth was created.
Hi Clare,
ReplyDeleteThis is a nicely organized post. The theories of the universe are certainly very interesting, but also so complex. Everyone seems to have the answer. We will definitely be learning about the different rocks and how they are formed! :)
